Dancer Auditions for the 68th season are now open!
Auditions for the 68th season will be held on January 12th, 2025, with a free DANCERS workshop on January 11th.
AUDITIONS JANUARY 12th, 2025
1-3pm for Dancers ages 16+* (This is an open call audition and instructors will lead you through combinations)
Auditions are held at Alamo City Arts Academy located at 2800 NE Loop 410, suite 307, San Antonio, TX 78218
Auditioning in person is strongly recommended however if you are unable to attend auditions you may submit your performance reel to [email protected] by 7pm on January 7th, 2024.
*must be at least 16 years of age by June 1st, 2025 or have previously performed with Fiesta Noche del Rio.
Professionalism Matters
Fiesta Noche del Rio is a professional production, and we evaluate more than just technical ability. How you conduct yourself at auditions—including whether you complete your own paperwork or rely on a parent—reflects your professionalism and maturity. These factors help us determine how you will represent both the show and the Alamo Kiwanis Club.
Dancers auditioning that wish to get a jump start on the combinations may come to a free workshop on January 11th at Alamo City Arts Academy from 2 to 3:30m. Email [email protected] to secure your spot. It will be limited to the first 30 people.
Things to consider before auditioning:
Shows are tentatively Fridays and Saturdays June 6th – August 2nd 2025.
Rehearsals will be on most Sunday’s from 1-4pm. As it gets closer to the show, rehearsals may need to run longer and happen during the week.
All cast members will be paid for performances. Pay is based on experience, ability, and the number of routines or songs in which you are cast. All participants must pre-register either in advance or on the day of auditions. Please ensure that the information provided is for the individual auditioning. Registrations with contact details for parents, guardians, or spouses will be considered invalid. If selected, attendance at the mandatory orientation on January 26, 2025, is required. Performers under 18 must have a guardian accompany them to the orientation.

Things we are looking for in performers:
- Performance ability. Are you smiling, are you excited to be part of this production? Are you performing like you would be comfortable interacting with the audience?
- Technical ability. Fiesta Noche del Rio incorporates several different styles of dancing, including Folklorico, Flamenco, Latin Ballroom, Jazz/ Hip-hop and Country Western. You don’t have to be perfect in any discipline, but you must be willing to learn. Fiesta Noche del Rio also incorporates both English and Spanish songs. You do not need to be fluent in either language to be one of our singers but you must be willing to learn.
- Physical Stamina. Fiesta Noche del Rio is a high energy, hour and thirty-minute production. It takes place outdoors, at night, in the middle of a Texas summer. You don’t have to be in the best shape of your life at auditions but show us you can handle the 1 hour and 30-minute audition. It is strongly recommended that if you are cast in the production you continue with training.
- Professionalism. As a cast member, you are expected to be at every performance and rehearsal. Your availability to attend rehearsals and performances will affect your casting. We are also looking for performers who can receive and apply feedback, conduct themselves in a respectable manner and maintain a direct line of communication with the Director.
