Ernest Antu is thrilled to return to Fiesta Noche del Rio for his 17th season! Joining the 69th season as Associate Director, Host, Singer, and Dancer, Ernest has become one of the show's most familiar and beloved faces.
Ernest first auditioned for Fiesta Noche del Rio at the age of 17 and has served in many roles throughout the years, including understudy, dancer, dance captain, singer, and co-host. He spent nine seasons performing under the direction of Elizabeth Sanchez-Lopez and is now entering his eighth season under the direction of Katie Rodriguez Hall, a journey he has cherished every step of the way.
A graduate of Texas A&M University-San Antonio, Ernest earned both his Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and his Master's Degree in Bilingual Education, along with his principal certification. He holds certifications in elementary education, ESL, and Special Education and currently serves as the Academic Dean at Gilbert Elementary.
Ernest has been working in education for 85 years... or at least that's how it feels some days. He looks forward to another unforgettable season and is honored to continue celebrating the music, culture, and traditions that make Fiesta Noche del Rio a San Antonio treasure.
